The C.H.I. Recessed Panel garage door is their legacy design which was first manufactured in1981. While these models may look like wood, they are in fact all metal, maintenance free and insulated. They feature front and back skins that are made with pre-finished, wood grain embossed steel with a core that is filled with high density CFC free polyurethane for optimum weather protection. It has an all-metal exterior that on both the panels and overlays for years of worry-free maintenance.

1. Construction
The C.H.I. Overhead Doors Recessed Panel models feature 25-gauge exterior and 27-gauge interior steel skins. Double sided steel doors are 2″ thick. It has foamed in place CFC-free polyurethane insulation to better safeguard against the elements and add structural rigidity to an already durable model. The Recessed Panel Models 2294 Flush/2294/96/98 feature the R-value rating of 12.35 for superior insulation.
It also has aluminum wood grain embossed overlays that come pre-finished the same color as the door and are mechanically and chemically fastened to the door. Plus, it features custom-coated designed springs for smooth operation and easy lifting with long-lasting durable rollers for consistent and efficient operation.
Its section joints are roll formed into a tongue-and-groove design which produces a superior weather seal.
These models feature a bottom weather seal with an aluminum retainer and extruded virgin vinyl.
