You can find the Valleys only drive-in theater in Glendale. It offers the most current flicks, usually as a double feature. Opened in 1979, the drive-in is popular for tourists and locals. Have a relaxing evening with the latest blockbuster while watching in the comfort of your car.
Enjoy the Holiday Season with the Glendale Glitters
Glendale offers a different take on the Christmas holidays with the Glendale Glitters. This six-week celebration starts on Thanksgiving weekend and brightens the season with 1.5 million lights illuminating 16 downtown Glendale blocks. Each weekend features a different theme with arts and crafts, horse-drawn carriage rides and appearances by Santa. The series ends with the Glitter & Glow Block Party in mid-January.
Experience a Cardinals game
What better way to enjoy Glendale than to catch an Arizona Cardinals Game at the University of Phoenix Stadium. Opened in 2006, the stadium also hosts the annual Fiesta Bowl and in 2008 was the site of the Super Bowl. Tours are available on non-game days when you’ll learn about its half-billion-dollar design, including its silver-frosted cupcake look, roll-out field, good sight lines from any seat and its retractable moon roof.
Take in an action-packed Coyotes game
Watch an Arizona Coyotes game in the fall, winter or spring at Gila River Arena. Opened in 2003, the state-of-the-art arena remains a premiere sports and entertainment venue for hockey and some of music’s biggest stars.
Have a picnic and a wonderful adventure at the Sahuaro Ranch Park
The Sahuaro Ranch Park is considered to be a beautiful place that offers both recreation and history. Visitors can picnic or play on the playgrounds, but they can also check out the historic ranch buildings and visit with chickens and peacocks.
Enjoy picking vegetables at the Tolmachoff Farms
This farm started as a roadside stand selling plums. Now this fourth generation farm grows 10 varieties of tomatoes as well as eggplants, bell peppers, yellow chiles and other produce. For a different experience, why dont you Pick them yourself during the Tolmachoff Family Farm Day. Held in May, the day features a watermelon seed spitting contest, firing tomatoes from air cannons and a chance to pet the farm critters.
